Measurement is a key step in any management process and forms the basis of continual improvement. If measurement is not carried out correctly, the effectiveness of the safety and health management arrangements are undermined and there is no reliable evidence to inform you how well the safety and health risks are controlled. Increasingly there is a need to demonstrate to external stakeholders i.e. Insurance Companies; Contractors and Shareholders, that arrangement to control safety and health risks are in place and that they are operating correctly and are effective.
